I've Fallen

I feel like I have fallen off the face of the blogging planet. I don't know where all my time goes. It's not like I have kids to run after all day or a gazillion errands to run. Maybe I am just lazy. :)

Here are a few updates (with pictures) since the last time I blogged:

My first nephew was born on October 20. Wendy and Stephen had their first baby and they named him Jared Clark Lindsey.

Game Day came to Provo on October 24 and apparently that is a pretty big deal. Paul and I tried to win some tickets through a radio station and Home Depot so we painted some posters. Unfortunately we did not win but it was pretty fun to compete. Too bad the Cougars didn't win the game.

On October 30, I survived Halloween with my students. I dressed up as a bag of M&M's. Easiest costume thanks to my roommate. I had to parade around the whole school and in front of tons of parents with video cameras. I hated every second of it. But hey, I survived the craziness of the day.

Halloween morning I flew home to San Diego to meet my new nephew and be there for his blessing. I took a personal day from work for that following Monday and felt a little guilty but at the same time enjoyed the break away from my students. My niece Paige went trick or treating as Abby from Sesame Street and was so cute!

I stayed here in Provo for Thanksgiving for the first time. I had Thanksgiving with Paul's family. It was fun but at the end of the day, I realized how much I missed my family and how grateful I am for their love, their sense of humor, and the comforts of home. It turned out ok because my mom and day flew out to Utah the next day and we had a second Thanksgiving at Katie's. We did some black Friday shopping and I got a Wii! I am so excited. I have never owned my own game system before. I am getting pretty good at it. I have the Fit Board and love the balance games. I am becoming a hula hooping pro! So watch out! While my parents were here we also went to see the lights in Salt Lake.

On November 30, Katie had another baby, Logan Tyler Benson. My second nephew!

Paul and I flew home to San Diego for Christmas but not without first watching the BYU Bowl Game. We got to the airport early enough to watch it there and come to find out, the only place playing the game was a bar. So yes, we sat in a bar and watched the BYU game. It seems a little funny to me. I took my camera home for Christmas but never took any pictures. Sorry.

My mom wrote her annual Christmas Poem about the family and put together a collage of pictures. Not sure if you can read it. I don't know how my mom does it every year, but somehow she puts together an amazing poem. She is wonderful!

We flew back to Utah on the 29th only to come back to snow! I was not excited about that. We spent New Years with Katie. We took Paige bowling for the first time. She enjoyed it for the first 30 minutes and then was more interested in the arcade games. We played the Wii for the remainder of the night and watched the ball drop.

I applied for a passport, my first time. I am going on a cruise with my coworkers to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico during Spring Break. We are so excited. But oh my gosh, I had no idea passports were so expensive. Seriously, could it actually be worth $116?!?! I guess it just means I am going to have to put it to use. Any suggestions on where I should go? :)
